FAQ - Bank Reconciliation
If I want to restart a bank reconciliation, can I easily clear everything without losing transactions?
No transaction from Entry of Journal Entries can be deleted by Bank Reconciliation. When a bank reconciliation is deleted, the reconciliation dates and checkmarks are cleared.
The difference at the end of the month does not equal zero. How can I check this?
You should start by checking if the bank reconciliation difference for the previous month still equals zero. Sometimes, corrections to transactions from previous months can affect the bank reconciliation. If the reconciliation for previous months balances, it is best to restart the month's bank reconciliation by unchecking all transactions and redoing the bank reconciliation while meticulously following the bank statement with the adjusted bank balance entered in the software.
Is it possible to change the display order of journal entries?
All columns can be used as a sort order. By clicking on the column header, the software will automatically update the display according to this order. For example, clicking on the " Date " column will sort the entries in chronological order (from oldest to newest). Clicking on the same column again will reverse the order (from newest to oldest). It is also possible to choose and modify the column display
How do I add a bank account in bank reconciliation?
If the account already exists in the Business accounts, it must be added in the Bank Account Configuration (Chart of Accounts menu). Accounts in this sheet can be selected for bank reconciliation (regardless of the bank account category).
I want to change the date of my bank reconciliation. How do I do this?
It is impossible to change the date of a bank reconciliation. It is therefore suggested to delete the bank reconciliation with the incorrect date and redo it. Deleting a bank reconciliation does not affect entries; only the check marks identifying reconciled transactions will be cleared.
I am trying to import my OFX file for bank reconciliation and a red X appears when selecting the file. How can I fix this issue?
You must verify that the file format is OFX or QFX. If necessary, the user can redownload the required file from their financial institution's website. If all the information is entered correctly, the problem may be caused by the account information saved in the Bank Account Configurations
. Simply delete the detail lines by following these steps:
1. Cancel the OFX statement import
2. Go to the Chart of Accounts menu
3. Click on the "Bank Account Configuration" button
4. Select the bank account concerned
5. Clear the detail lines in the "Bank Reconciliation Information" section (Bank ID, Branch ID, Bank Account ID).
6. Save
7. Restart the OFX statement import in bank reconciliation.
