FAQ - Tax Form

When I receive the government refund, what entry should I make so as not to affect my next tax form?

You should refer to the reversing entry generated by the software to know which account(s) to use. Usually, if a refund is expected, account 11000 should be used to record the offset of the deposit from the government. If a payment must be made, account 31000 should be used. It is possible to use the Tax Refund Assistant so that the software collects the information and produces the entry for the user.

The amounts shown on the tax form do not seem correct. How can I check?

The tax audit report can accompany the form and provide details on the amounts for each box on the form. To print the tax audit report, check the "Display tax audit report" box.

I forgot to generate the reversing entry for the previous form. Can I request it as soon as I realize it?

The user can request the software to generate the reversing entry at any time. However, you must ensure that the entry that will be generated uses the actual amounts that were declared for that period. If needed, the user can modify the generated entry to enter the amounts from the claim. The resulting variance will be automatically included when generating the next tax form.

I made corrections to entries, but when I view the tax form, the changes do not appear. Why?

If the month is closed, the corrections will not be included in the tax form for that month (or period). The corrections will be applied to the next tax form. If the user wants the corrections to affect the current period, they must contact Customer Service to reopen the last month of the reporting period.

Tax reporting periods have been changed. How can they be corrected in EVO?

This information is found in "Tax Configuration" (Chart of Accounts menu). For each tax, the user can modify the reporting period. This change affects the generation of future tax forms.
