FAQ - Government Remittances

How do I know if a remittance period is closed?

When a period is closed, there is an entry number listed and a green check mark in the " Period closed " column.

There are no detailed amounts on my remittance form. Why?

For amounts of a period to be displayed on the form, that period must have been closed!

I would like to correct the remittances for a closed period. How do I do that?

To modify the remittances for a closed period, you must first reopen this period using the " Reopen last closed period " button. Once the period is open, all modifications are possible (amount paid, date, etc.).

The suggested periods are not correct. Can I modify them?

This information appears and can be modified in the " Government deduction accounts ". The user must specify the remittance frequency for each government deduction account. The remittance frequency is determined by the government. It is not left to the user's choice.

Is it possible to correct (add or delete) payrolls for which remittances have already been paid?

If payrolls are modified (corrected, deleted, added) while the remittance period is closed, the software will record the difference caused by the modifications in the " Difference " column and these amounts can be included (plus or minus) in the next remittance period.

Do payrolls need to have been paid and/or transferred to accounting for government deductions to accumulate in the Remittances report?

No; as soon as payroll preparation is finalized (with or without payment and/or transfer to accounting), government deductions are accumulated.
