FAQ - Inventory adjustments

I have never updated inventory in my accounting. Do I have to wait until the end of my fiscal year to do so?

Inventory adjustments can be made at any time. They are used to update inventory in accounting. Some users make inventory adjustments once a year (before or after year-end adjustments), while others do them more regularly.

I have to interrupt my work in the Inventory Adjustment entry. Will the entered amounts be lost?

No, it is possible to save the amounts in the Inventory Adjustment Entry and return later to continue the work.

I entered the amounts in the Inventory Adjustment Entry, but when I view the reports, it seems like the adjustments have no effect. Why?

Entries must be generated for inventory adjustments to affect accounting. To generate the adjustment entry, click the "Generate entry" button.

How can I check if my inventory is up to date?

The "Inventory Adjustment" report allows you to view adjustments and new balances by inventory item. The shortcut to this report is available in the ribbon of the Inventory Adjustment Entry.
