FAQ - Check Printing

How to know if a check is linked to bookkeeping?

If an entry is linked to a check, this information will appear in the details of this check (in the "Linked to accounting entry" tab). If a check was created and printed without coming from an entry, it is possible to link this check to an entry

I am trying to select multiple checks to print, but the "Print" button is unavailable. Why?

If the checks to print affect different bank accounts, it will be impossible to print them in the same selection. You must therefore select and print the checks for one bank account and repeat the steps for another bank account. This is designed this way to respect the numerical sequence of checks for each bank account.

Is it possible to reprint a check?

Yes, you can reprint a check as many times as necessary. Printing a check does not create an accounting entry, so reprinting a check will not create a duplicate in accounting (entry, payroll, bank reconciliation, etc.).

I am trying to close a fiscal year and the software indicates that checks are not printed for this period. How can I resolve this issue?

All checks must be printed BEFORE closing the fiscal year. If checks are on this list, it is because one of the recipients had "Checks" as their Payment Method. You can select the checks to print and print them (on blank paper or on check stock if necessary) or choose the "Mark as printed" option available under the "Print selected check" button options.

I received a new batch of checks with different numbers. How do I change my number sequence for check printing?

The number to use for the next check printing can be entered in the check sheet (top left corner). By editing the number already entered, the software will update the number sequence for future printings. You can also edit the check number to use by going to the Bank Account Configuration (Chart of Accounts menu, Bank Account Configuration button, Check tab).

Can I print my checks on any check format?

No. The layout of elements on the check is programmed based on the NEBS QFS9209 model. These checks can be ordered online at:

I printed a check through the software and I cannot find it in my bank reconciliation. How do I find it?

The check might not be linked to an entry. To check this information, you must:
• Go to the Accounting (or Payroll) menu
• Click on the Checks button
• Display all checks
• Select the check you want details for
• Check the "Linked to accounting entry" tab. If no entry number is shown, this check is not linked to any entry, so it cannot be displayed in bank reconciliation. You need to create the entry and link the check

Why is a check marked "Void" when I only reprinted it?

The "Reprint with a new number" option must have been selected during reprinting. If the software assigns a new number to a check, it automatically voids the original.

When I open the Checks window, there is nothing in the list. However, I printed checks in EVO.

When opening the Checks window, only UNPRINTED checks are displayed. If nothing is displayed, no checks have been prepared from entries or payroll.
